Bibliographic Services: The Library has prepared a list of Reference Books for the benefit of user community. Booklet containing the details of all reference oriented documents will be published.
Inter-Library Loan Services: The books of our library will be sent to various other libraries on Inter Library Loan as per the request from other institutions. The library also used to get some books on Inter Library Loan basis from other libraries as requested by our users.
Photostat copy Services : The library has entrusted the responsibility of extending Xerox facility to a outside agency. The Library documents will be Xeroxed within the Library for the benefit of the users.
Orientation Programme: The Library is being organized the Library Orientation Programme in order to create an awareness among the fresh students of the various post-graduate departments about the proper utilization of the library and its resources and services; to give first hand information about the library and to provide them a closer acquaintance and more familiarity about various aspects of the library system. This programme is an educative and informative and also bridges the gap between the library staff and user clients. This Programme briefs about the physical arrangement and organization of the collection of the University Library, its functions and services both traditional and Information Technology related services like CD-ROM, FAX INTERNET & E-Journals Consortium of UGC INFONET. Briefing will be followed by demonstration of Information Technology related services and Tour of the Library (covering all the sections of the library), Rules Regulation and Do’s and Do not’s will be briefed to the students. This programme enhances the usage of the library to the optimum level.
Resource Sharing : Mysore city Libraries Consortium (MCLC) : University Library is the founder member of MCLC which came into existence in 1990. This is another important professional outreach activity. It has a membership of 17 academic, industrial and research institutional libraries in Mysore City. The member institutions of Consortium share the information and human resources available with them. professional activities of the Consortium are organized collectively to meet the principle objectives. Important ventures of cooperation are compilation of union List of Scientific Serials in Mysore City Libraries, Directory of Specialists in Mysore City, staff training on library automation / management software, development of information network system MYLIBNET, conduct of conferences, workshops and seminars.
An highlighting out reach service of the Consortium through the University Library is the publication of the MCLC News (quarterly) circulated to 400 academic and R & D institutions in India.
Library has membership with American Information Resources Centre (AIRC), Chennai, American Studies Resource Centre (ASRC), Hyderabad and INFLIBNET centre, Ahamadabad for resource sharing programmes. Library also assists in inter library lending both at national and international levels.
